The Tarot Deck

 

The Tarot deck consists of 78 cards proper. There are variations that are available, but as they are in error they will not be considered.

The Proper Tarot Deck consists of the following:

40 Cards of the Minor Arcana - These cards are broken down into four suits that are numbered from the Ace through the 10. Four Suits - 10 cards per Suit - 40 cards in all.  

 

The Suits

Wands - Denote Spirituality, Personality, Inspiration and general attitude. Fire

Cups - Emotions, Creativity, Romance and personal relationships. Water

Swords - Thought, Intellect, Communication and Plans. Travel. Air

Pentacles - Materiality, Money, Possessions and Legacies. Earth

 

 

16 Court Cards. - There are 16 total court Cards - 4 per Suit. Each suit contains a King, Queen, Knight and Page.

4 - Kings.....(Knights in Thoth).

4 - Queens....(Empresses).

4 - Knights ....(Prince in Thoth).

4 - Page .....(Princesses in Thoth....Knaves).

22 Cards of the Major Arcana. - 0 thru 21 Majors or Trump Cards. Each card represents a particular Planetary, Elemental or Astrological Attribute.
