TAROT

Swords

The suit of Swords represent Intelligence and Logic. It is identical to the Element of Air, which rules the suit.  Very little can be said here of emotions, materiality or inspiration. Swords deal with plans and planning. They describe the intellect, or the intellectual thoughts of the querent. They will indicate if the querent is following any sort of intelligent course or just blundering along.

Swords also represent communications and travel. Movement (as in residence) and the intent to journey. Swords represent a certain volatility and condition of ever-changing positions both physical and mental.

Swords, according to their nature, tend to exert a negative influence on the matters that they touch. This is the nature of the suit but that does not mean every card is an indication of negativity. They are most times indicative of irresponsibility and absent-mindedness as the result of laziness.

The following table denotes the significance of the Suit of Swords.
